Maroela camp is a small camp and is situated on the banks of the Timbavati River, on the western border of the Kruger National Park, approximately 2 km east of Orpen Rest Camp. 

You access the camp on the Tamboti tented camp entrance road as both camps are situated close to one another and both face the Timbavati River.

This camp is one of only two camps in the Park that exclusively caters for guests with caravans and for campers (the other camp being Tsendze in the north).

Most with of the 24 campsites are close to the fence and have lovely shade from the large trees around the campsite.

There are Communal kitchen and ablution facilities available, but cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery are not provided.

Maroela does not have a restaurant, petrol station or shop, you can stock up at the Orpen rest camp shop when you check in.

Activities

Guests can observe animals that visit a small watering hole and there is also a rustic viewing platform overlooking the Timbavati River.

Maroela camp offers guided game drives and guided walks. Please ask at Orpen reception when you check in.
