Lions take Cape Buffalo Just Outside Satara Camp

Satara lion kill 1

Satara lion kill 1

In late August, while staying in Satara Sherry and I, along with much of the rest of the camp, had an early wake up call - the roaring of lions at about 2 am! The roaring and snarling went on for a couple of hours with the whooping of Hyena added to the melody. We were the second car out in the morning and found the kill just off the road. It was in fact only a couple of hundred meters from our room, as we were in the "A" circle. In the last photo you can see some folks looking from within the park.

In addition to the photos, I took some overexposed video
which shows the Hyena whooping and how they appear to use the ground to project the sound.

Let us know if you would like to see more of the action.

Hope you enjoy the video.

"It's 768 pages of the most amazing information. It consists of, well, everything really. Photography info...area info...hidden roads..special places....what they have seen almost road by road. Where to stay just outside the Park...camp information.
