Cheetah on the dunes

4 on a dune

4 on a dune

This trip Sherry and I were treated to numerous cheetah sightings. Two of my favorites were on top of the dunes. The first sighting was about 10k south of Mata Mata. It's the one with the lighter blue background. This sighting occurred shortly after sunrise, and was unique in that we sighted a leopard about 200 meters from the cheetah, unfortunately he disappeared before we could get a shot. If it wasn't for another couple that did, I might have thought I imagined it.

The second sighting was at the south end of the third by pass road. Hope you enjoy. By the way some folks speculate that the 4 were the cubs of the mother with 4 that we shot last year. Who knows? In any case hope you enjoy the photos. Let me know your favorite. I'd like to see if it's the same as mine.

Response to 4 cheetah
by: Bob

You're correct, there are only 3 in this photo - if you don't object to a few more cheetah, I'll add one that has all 4 in it.
